Young Perspectives (YOPE) meets youth and professionals in closed forensic care facilities. We work with creative methods – ranging from spoken word to social design – and the perspective of youth is guiding everything we do.

In the Netherlands, YOPE designs services that directly benefit incarcerated youth and the professionals that they work with. Internationally, YOPE engages with partners in training programmes for like and unlike-minded organisations and professionals. Meet our partners below:

EU YOUTHLAB

Defence for Children (DCI) Belgium was created in 1991 and joined the international movement in 1992. The NGO has been approved since 2010 by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation as an Association for Permanent Education. As such, DCI-Belgium produces educational tools, provides training and education in the rights of the child.

Defence for Children International (DCI) Italia is an independent volunteer organization, part of the DCI movement. DCI Italy works for the establishment of a new cultural model in order for young people to be recognised as citizens entitled to rights and able to actively participate in family, social, cultural and civil life.

The University of Amsterdam (UvA) is ambitious, creative and committed: a leader in international science and a partner in innovation, the UvA has been inspiring generations since 1632.

GIVING BACK

Netherslands Helsinki Committee (NHC) is a non-governmental organisation that promotes human rights and strengthens the rule of law and democracy in all countries of Europe, including the Central Asian countries participating in the OSCE.

Custodial Institutions Agency (Dienst Justitiële Inrichtingen – DJI) contributes to a safer Dutch society by implementing custodial measures and prison sentences and by giving the people in its care the opportunity to build up a socially acceptable life.

Oberstown Children Detention Campus (Oberstown) is a Irish national service that provides a safe and secure environment for young people remanded in custody or sentenced by the Courts for a period of detention.
